I have a 2006 Jetta TDI that is stalling. Car ran fine and never any hint of trouble till it stalled. bought car with 82k miles now has 95k miles. Fuel filter and timing belt replaces at 77k.
Was told by dealership that it needed an alternator and battery. After the $1,260 quote I towed it home and pulled the alternator and had it checked by a reputable shop that builds these and starters. Shop said it was working like it should. Replaced battery and at idle car is 14.2 volts. Take car for a drive and it stalls after 1.5 miles.
It's done this three times in a row. Get car back to house once I get it cranked and put gauges on it and at idle it's 13.8 volts. New serpentine belt, all fuses under hood and dash check good. Anybody with VW experience have a clue?
I'm thinking of checking the relay fuses
