The Greatest Generation! Miss you, Uncle Bill!
One if my best friends Dad is 98 and landed on Iwo Jima with the 5th Marines and spent 33 days on that hell hole.
He was tough as nails then and still is today.
THANK YOU DON ROBERSON THOMASVILLE, GA for the sacrifice and misery you endured for us.
Uncle Bill was a second generation American from Scotland. He was a true Scotsman. He used to say,"I fought with Patton and with anyone else who wanted to try me on." He was a giant of a man. Actually my great uncle. Both my father and I were named for him. I was lucky enough to get to know him.
