New career time…..

I’m not sure if it’s a mid-life crisis or if I’ve lost my passion for my work but I’m looking for a new job. I’d consider a whole new career. Too old for the Army, too many knee surgeries for back breaking construction work.

Spent 15 years managing upscale restaurants and the past decade doing wine/spirits sales. I have lots of experience managing teams, leading people, and am very comfortable in public speaking. I’m not really in a position to go back to grad school, though a cert would be doable.

I actually really enjoy the sales aspect and wouldn’t mind continuing in a different product field, but would like to travel a bit and would like to get into more of a niche industry. Travel throughout GA, AL, SC, NC - in the SE region would be fine. I do not enjoy cold calling and knocking on doors.

Considering just about any field at this point. So, anyone have advice?
Gunsmith! Work at your own pace and it's easy to learn once you get passed the initial fear of the unknown.

I began my career in logistics driving commercial vehicles, moved into management and considering finishing my career driving in some capacity for myself. I’ve had my CDL for 30+ years and have maintained it as a backup plan.

They’re not difficult to obtain, you will get the traveling experience that you want, can use your sales experience to network and make a crap ton of money in the process. Good drivers are hard to find and can command great salaries, without someone breathing down your neck…

Not for everyone, but not a bad gig either.
Theres a huge shortage of good drivers. I can drive a truck but not legally so I am highly debating going and getting my CDL A as a back up plan.

I know drivers making $150k a year and could do more if the stupid log books would let them.

I’ve met you several times. You are an interesting guy who gets along easily with other people.
I’m confident that whatever you choose to do, you will be successful.
