Ammo and gun companies need to sell guns and ammo, man.

They do, but every time a major ammo maker tools up for the fad cartridges it increases their costs and reduces the capacity to produce rounds in calibers people actually shoot in volume

Ok so like someone already said it has to do with the range. Here in SW michigan there is soooo much open farm land that they dont want you shooting those long shots across open fields... Heck it wasnt till the late 90’s when we could gun hunt from a elevated platform either. That one i never understood cause your shooting at the ground. Lol.
