That article is from July 2020. It's almost irrelevant now. There were a ton of unknowns at that point and CDC had a lot of disclaimers then. Much time has past and there are still a lot of variables, but it's very clear that the death toll is much higher than normal now.

And you conveniently left out that the number is the "considered excess deaths" Even the numbers of your propaganda page from CDC has weasel wording for numbers where "the hospitals noted they considered 90% of the deaths as from Covid or complicated by Covid" BECAUSE they were getting paid extra money if their diagnoses and what got put on Death Certificates mentioned Covid. Further, the average age of the deaths they do attribute is 79.5. Look at the TOTAL US deaths, not halfway estimate points of 'excess deaths.' That very term 'excess' indicated bias in this agency's output.

Yes, you have some valid points there. They use some vague language and have some disclaimers. Those are math and statistics issues. I don't get hung up on Covid vs non-covid deaths, the overall excess number tells the story well enough.

If you remove those issues and basically look at the lowest possible number 'excess deaths', the number is still well over 500k excess deaths. Hey, lets just throw in a "CDC sucks factor" and call it 400k deaths.

We could go on and on about different stats. I suspect the number of vehicle fatalities (high contributor to overall deaths) was much lower in the last year and yet excess deaths is overall higher. I haven't looked into that but plenty of low hanging fruit to go after if we went into the weeds on this.

Point being, no need to get into the weeds. We know the number is really high, we just don't know how high. 400k is enough to convince me to wear a mask at the grocery store for 20 min. I think the evidence points to a much higher number. I don't see how you could get to a lower number.

Into the weeds.....well, the 'weeds' I see are in my own county of Pickens. Population in 2018 over 31,000 and as of today 78 total deaths attributed to Covid. You can run the percentages but the number is DAMNED small..... (actually, .2439% using 2018 population numbers) THAT IS FLU, especially when the average age is so high. My little hospital here has 43 total beds. It was never inundated with 'covid' cases it couldn't handle. The fact (to me) is that it's an old people killer, if that. For people averaging an age 8 years older than my 71 years. My 14YO grand daughter supposedly tested positive and she stayed home and all she had was a stopped up nose....no one else in the family got anything..... I'm done fretting about this. They got what they wanted - to oust a sitting President. They can keep their mess..

You wanna know what REALLY scares me? The fact that one of the vaccines has been pulled for investigation because of clotting in people using blood thinners. THAT'S what scares me. Scares me that I'll be forced to take a vaccine so I can receive some government benefit or service I am rightfully due anyway..

Like someone else pointed out this is all a distraction. Death toll could have been 2 million. Still doesn’t justify anything that happened over the past 14 months.

This is good though because it makes it easy to know who your enemy is when the time comes.

I quit believing anything the CDC says when their Director, Dr. Thomas Freidan got up on TV during the Ebola scare and told everyone you couldn't catch it from a sneeze or cough. He was made to EAT those words on TV by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. That's the CDC....
