Yours is a Veteran bringback that was duffel cut just behind the bandspring. Later, after arrival in the states, a piece of wood was grafted on. Obviously the original piece of wood was misplaced or lost.

I just bought a K43 but the stock despite having the serial number and waffenampt does not have the front band spring. See pictures
Is it a high quality reproduction or at the end of the war could they have skipped that step? The sling seems to keep it tight, I have yet to shoot it.
Any insight would be appreciated.
