New to reloading

Ok so I’m wanting to get into reloading. Mainly 223 and maybe 7mag since that’s what I shoot long distance with. Mainly will be 223 to start but I have absolutely no idea what I need or where to begin. Other then just “google” searches is there any other good info out there. What do I need??? Not looking to go crazy but I have a new ruger precision rifle in 223 that I want to see what I can do with it.
HELP!!

I’m in Dallas. I’m no expert but have been reloading off an on for over 25 years. I haven’t blown anything up yet. Bring that marlin 30-30 that I keep trying to tell myself I shouldn’t offer something up for and I’ll help you with anything you need to know. Lol

If you think you will save money by reloading, forget it, you won't.

You will, however, expand your capabilities.

If you already shoot to the accuracy capabilities of your guns, reloading might allow even better performance. If you aren't there yet with your shooting, spend more time at the range. You need to be at a point where you can tell if it is the gun or the ammo that needs improvement to tighten your groups.

i mean i save money per round now that im setup...but how long to recoup investment?? who knows, not worried about it. haven't bought factory ammo in 6 years.

Many years ago when I wanted to learn how to reload, I had nobody to teach me anything. I went onto YouTube and there is a wealth of information on there - everything from newbie help to pro. Right now, you will have to probably wait, sometimes a good while, for high demand components. Spend that time watching how those on YouTube teach will show you a lot and probably answer many questions for you. I haven't ever found any one to be purposely misleading, just sometimes different ways to achieve the same purpose. Also it's good to watch what other people are using - you can get some great insight there and maybe save you some money in the long run. Good luck.
