Don’t mind taking it off-ODT to text, but copies of any set meets/deals are cut and pasted into the PM. More annoying is just all of the clutter in the ad threads with “call me”, “text me”, “contact me” etc etc. instead of communicating by PM like it should be. That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever had a negative deal on here. Just gotta communicate well and often. Some people/deals just aren’t going to work out and you can usually tell that within the first few texts/PMs.

There should be a third option, for "It depends....".

It depends on their communication and how they handle a potential deal. So my answer is maybe....it depends on if I can work with them and agree to a price, meeting place/time and the other details. I don't think all new members are bad.

New users come to me. That way if I get flaked...I'll just grab lunch or look at overpriced **** at the Basspro 10 min from my house...OR at Bullseye...I usually like to meet downtown Lawrenceville or Basspro.

Established member...I will drive as far as I need to make a deal...IF I want it bad enough.

I'll give a new user a chance. I'll even take it off PM's to text if we are communicating a lot. Being able to spell and create coherent sentences goes a LONG way here. Trust can be earned or blown really quickly and obviously.

ODT is definitely a microcosm of the locality in which we live - ton a of good folk with a sprinkling of azzhats thrown in. I’ll give a newbie a chance for sure, but only local meetup, no shipping and no driving more than 15mins. The feedback system on here is great, it does take time to build it up and you have to earn it. We all need to use the neg button more liberally if we want to root out the azzhats, then again, there are always 3 sides to every story....
