Newbies under 21 wanting pistols?

If none of their family wants to sell them a handgun. That should tell you all you need to know .

are they telling you up front they are under 21?

If so , sounds like a sting .
Or they’re part of an “anti” family and have been enlightened.

You don’t know why someone might be buying here...

Unwelcoming attitudes like that are why there aren’t more gun owners. It’s the equivalent of the dickhead gun shop worker talking down to a newbie like they’re some kind of gun god.

My son’s best friend just got his first pistol yesterday from this site. He’s under 21 and had zero feedback. He was more excited to get his first positive feedback than he was to get the pistol. Just because someone is under 21 doesn’t mean they’re more of an idiot than someone over 21, quite the contrary in many cases. I’ve met lots of people under 21 that are far more responsible and trustworthy than many “men” that are twice their senior.

Of course, it’s your property and your decision. If you have one ounce of doubt, by all means, avoid the transaction.

That'd have been weird. Let me sign for a battery of M109A3s but couldn't go buy a .22 revolver at the PX.
Hell, I went in at 17. I was issued an M16A1 but couldn't legally drink in the EM club. Not saying I didn't since they never asked for ID but you get my point. I say if they are old enough to drink in a bar and vote they should be old enough to own a handgun.

Overheard two yutes yesterday moaning about why the shop owner wouldn't sell them a "shawty AR." They were complaining about how the longer barrel of a rifle would interfere with the steering wheel when they tried to bring it to bear out the window. Even demonstrated driving with the rifle in the right hand for the shop owner so he could visualize their dilemma. I am not making this up.

That's both worrying and hilarious.

But let's be real here. You know damn good and well members on here have gone through the same dilemma when coming up with a good truck gun.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a truck gun when I was under 21, LOL.

I'd have been like, "You mean like the 30-30 hanging in the window rack?"

Well, I'm 19 at the moment. I've been trying to acquire a handgun because I've been followed home on a few occasions and have to visit downtown ATL frequently, and there's more or less nothing police can do as each incident has been spread out by a good bit of time with no pattern between them. I'd like to be able to keep one in my vehicle for self protection and train with it in order to be more comfortable with it by the time I'm old enough to get my CCW, and my family isn't too fond of guns in general. Unfortunately sites like ODT are the only way someone in my position/age range CAN acquire a method of defense. I've got a rifle, but certainly couldn't fit that in my vehicle for a quick response.

That being said, I definitely don't fault the people who have thus far been unwilling to sell to me, as no CCW is certainly a valid reason for a level of wariness.
