Next gun suggestions?

Like you, I really wanted to like the XDs, but the grip sucks. Talon grips are a must on that firearm. However...

Saw some pics of a Gen 2 XDs that is coming out (may already be out??). The grip is redesigned. While the whole "grip zone" badging on the XD line takes gayness to a whole new level, the newly designed grip feels great in the hand.

My next polymer wonder pistol will probably be a FN 509. The ergos on that gun feel good to me.

In the category of compact 9 mm, semi autos, why don't you consider a Ruger SR9 series (if you can find one) or the cheaper replacements that Ruger has come out with ---the Ruger American series and the Ruger Security 9.
I rented and shot two different Ruger SR9 pistols years ago and they felt great in my hand they were on my "short list" of next guns to buy.

Since you're willing to radically change firearms styles from a compact 9 mm to a 357 magnum revolver, then I agree with the others who say you should also broaden your horizons and consider a single action only automatic on the 1911 platform. If you prefer the 9 mm round, fine, get an Officers Model size 1911 chambered in 9mm.

For the 357, I suggest a Smith and Wesson model 66. There are an infinite number of grips or stocks you can put on it to fit your hand. Some can be tiny for concealment and others can be large with finger grooves that feel great on the range. This gun is available with barrels from 2.5 inches to 6 inches .

Everyone should own a 1911 chambered in .45 ACP. Other calibers are acceptable as long as you already have a .45 in the stable.

As far as carry size, I'm still sorting that out, but will say I like the Shield better than the XDS.
