So I just joined the Marine Corps and I'll soon be up in Quantico, VA for almost a year and then hopefully out to Pendleton. I can leave all of my stuff at my parent's house in their safe, but is there any paperwork I need to file when I have a permanent change of address?

Unless they're on a trust with you... I'd call that a highly grey area... could easily be argued they are in possession... unless maybe it's a safe they cannot access.

They are on a trust and my family is on that trust so they're fine to have possession. Is it as simple as that even if I'm no longer a resident of Georgia?

I'm no lawyer... but yes, I think it's as simple as that. If they are on the trust and can possess the weapons... your temporary absence shouldn't matter.

Dude I'd keep your GA residency regardless of your pcs move. Keep your stuff with your parents until you know for sure where you're going after Quantico ...can't have any nfa fun in California anyways, so no use in dragging that stuff out there.
