Picked up a new-used rifle the other day. It had been run suppressed. Based on the condition of the BCG and barrel, it had been run hard and long. The bolt carrier was black-dark gray. Aside from the normal Hoppe's and brush, I discovered a way to bring the nickel boron back to it's original finish.
A little elbow grease and Wilson's Silver Polish brought the matte nickel boron sheen and silky smooth surface back from the great beyond.
