No Scammers

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to have a chat about "scammers" and hear suggestions/comments on what we can do to better combat them and keep folks from getting scammed.

I have a couple ideas, I'll start a little list and add anything that sounds promising.

- Thread or Forum where people can post the types of scams they are seeing
- Voting system where if a listing gets X amount of votes it gets pulled as a scam or spam. I can't allow the entire community to have this power or it would get abused, but maybe I could make it a lifetime supporter benefit or something. (We used to have a "Good Deal!" feature where everyone could vote on listings they considered a good deal, but it got abused and was used more ironically than anything, promoting more terrible deals than good ones.) (Side thought, a terrible deal feature could work as well. We could have "Today's Worst Deal" )

Things to look out for so far:
- Do not send money to anyone unless you are 100% sure of who they are. Check feedback, check posts, etc.
Yes, I miss the "Good Deal" button... :-D

The one I’m thinking about gave a story on no hubby but had kids and such.. tits popping out in her avatar.. I figured her out fast.. but some men here let their dicks think for them.. I think this was before your time unless you started a new account
Ahh... half you guys I meet have your tits hanging out... :-D

Limiting users abilities to use certain emojis is lame. Not allowing comments calling out scammy behavior in for sale threads is also lame.
Hey new guy... yeah, knee jerk reaction I feel same way, but lets face it... without the rules, this place would be a free for all ****fest and not at all as it is intended. ( I have had my "warnings" too). ( Imagine I will again). ( I love parenthesis).

This is tough. We were all new once.

Restricting new members to invite only, especially by high feedback, established members seems like it would completely stunt site growth. Which some might appreciate but in general would probably be considered not a good thing.

Is there way that established members could generate a referral code? Like all the other popular apps that do something similar. This can link the new member to the refferal giving member, maybe giving the new member a specific badge showing they were reffered. But also link any negative feedback for the new member to the established one. Say for one year before the badge and link expire. This could help establish trust for new and low feeback users.
