No wonder I'm in pain

Had my L4/L5 fused in 2019 - best decision I ever made. But I had no disc to trim down. Inverse I have heard nothing good about these disectomy procedures. You’re just putting duct tape on the problem. The disc is probably beyond repair. I wouldn’t do it.
Wow, all of my research tells a completely different story.

My situation has gone from bad to worse, my right side decided to join the party yesterday morning. Pain is magnified, mobility is diminished, the opportunity for relief is still a month away.
Might need more scans before surgery? Hopefully they’ll decide while you’re waiting on surgery ? If anything changes… I would let them know. 👍

I hate it for any of us !! We shouldn’t have to deal with such crap , IMO.
I don’t think any of us done anything so bad as to deserve anything near this painful and long term .

I say now, as long as I can stand and walk a couple of steps, I’m done with being cut on in the spine area !! I will never do anymore spinal surgeries as long as I can help it and have any kind of say so or choice about it !!

Prayers for us all for relief and recovery !!

Afraid I did, “deserving stuff” . But we’re gonna make it👍

And yep…we WILL make it !! :becky:

My lower back, left hip and entire leg have been increasingly painful for most of the year. An X-ray this Spring indicated that there was a lot of arthritis, so anti-inflammatory meds and PT were prescribed, but PT only made things worse. With the help of my PT therapist I finally convinced my doctor that I needed an MRI, so I had the MRI two months ago

I endured two months of ever increasing pain and being out of work before I could meet with my neurosurgeon today. The bottom disc just above my tailbone is herniated in a big way, you can see it bulging way beyond the other discs pictured. The bulge is large enough to push on my central nerve and that's what is causing all of the problems.

What lies ahead for me. I have to deal with the pain for another month because she doesn't have an opening until mid December. 45 minutes of outpatient surgery will be followed by a full month of doing as little possible... I hope to resume limited work sometime February.

Sorry sir, I’m in the same boat. It’s so aggravating……you can’t sit, you can’t stand, walking hurts, being horizontal seems to help but that ain’t much of a life. I hope it all goes well and you have a quick recovery 👍👍

Dr wanted to take me off my diclofinac that seems to be contrary to my blood pressure medicine. I was off for 2 weeks and went back to tell him I HURT. My ankle, hips, back and knees. He ordered x-rays of them. He called and wanted to know what my pain specialist wanted to do to help. I told him I did not have one with and Diclofinac seems to keep it at bay. He gave me a 90 day prescription with 3 refills after the x-rays.

Kress did my knees but he is retired now
Gleason did the ankle and just retired
I see Rubin Sloan for the back. He is at Resurgens Atlanta and see him because he is not a cutter.

I wish you the best of luck
