I'm going to the Cherokee reservation. Anyone know NC gun laws? My permit has expired...

have an email dated 12-11-11 from Ben Reed, the Cherokee Police Chief. He states "Currently, we honor state concealed carry permits. " The problem is, the word "currently" and the fact that Cherokee Tribal Law specifically forbids the possession of firearms on tribal land. I was there last weekend and did not test the waters by carrying.

Yeah as long as I don't "conceal" it. I'm fine. I just need it in my car for safety. I dont need to carry into the casino.
