Now there's a pistol you just don't see everyday. It looks like it will stack them on top of one another.

It probably will but the guy behind the trigger maybe not so much...

Got 'er out at lunch yesterday at Norcross Gun Club & Range (what a nice bunch of folks!) and shot a box of Atlanta Arms reloads through her. I'm guessing they load their 10mm a little light but don't have any chrono data to support that.

This thing shoots like BUTTAH! It's smooth like a Colt Gold Cup I had the pleasure to shoot one time. The recoil is really manageable. I was holding my breath before the first trigger pull because it's been a while since I've shot a 10mm. That was a Bren 10 many years ago and I remember a sharp recoil.

I guess the extra heft of the gun helps in the recoil department and I'm sure the ported barrel doesn't hurt, either. In fact, my Rock Island compact .45 is more of a handful than this is.

No FTE, FTF, stovepiping but it did randomly lock the slide open. Slide release would pop up and lock the slide. Got 'er home for a tuneup and I think I've got it fixed. Will know at the next range session.

The front of the grip is checkered but you can't see it because of the current covers. Don't get me wrong, I like the Pachmayer grips just fine, they do a great job but I'm thinking a nice set of Rosewood grips would really set her off. The two tone finish wasn't my thing at first but it's growing on me.

Ok, couldn't resist. Just received my new grips. Made by Cylinder & Slide. The Pachmayer are great for function but I wanted something a little sexier.

That is an awesome piece of art there ^.

On another note; I was able to spend some time at the range. I did some load testing and firearms testing while working on my CCW pistol skills. I brought an Iver Johnson 999 Sportsman .22 LR revolver to plink with for fun and warm up. My dad had one and it was the first handgun I learned to shoot with.

These have been around a while but sadly are no longer produced. They are a 9 shot break top revolver with really nice blued steel and nice hardwood grips. It's a very old school type of design. I spent the better part of 200 rounds shooting paper, plastic, a raving mad golf ball and anything small enough to be a challenge. It brought me back to good times and this afternoon was really nice enough to enjoy it.
