I've got a buddy who gets it in his toes. He says its like a guy with metal baseball cleats steps on it every single time he takes a step. He said his is brought on by his diet. I couldn't imagine having it, knock on wood. I second going to see a Dr.

Quit drinking beer, when I use to drink I got gout oftentimes. I haven't drank in 20 years and not a case of gout since.

No because I remember limping around with the same foot/toe when we lived in middle GA over two years ago. Although my current job certainly won't help.

Avoid beer and beef.

Get some cherry juice concentrate (Kroger $20 for a big bottle) and drink that. Should help if it's gout.
