ODT Gun Show & Swap Meet - Marietta - May 17, 2025

Had a great time today, Big thanks to Okuma and Co. for making it happen. I can’t believe I found two bags of .575 cast lead minnie balls for my 1861 Springfield…..very cool. Saw many friends and caught up with some old favorites I haven’t seen in a while. I laughed when Gunanddoglover Gunanddoglover lost his $100 dollar bill…..over and over again. :becky:

All this and home made brownies too! (Thanks Ms Carol and Cliff).

Life is good.

.
Sounds like y'all needed some female supervision............🤣

It was a good time as always.

Sales were the poorest ever but still worth setting up. I did notice many less "buyers" this show than in the past but I did have a couple of folks buy a couple hundred dollars worth of ammo. No gun sales at all.

One thing I noticed (and some other sellers commented on) was that there was a serious SURPLUS of $1 bills being used. I mean it got ridiculous.
(Leave it me to complain about counting money)

It was good to catch up with a lot of folks and meet some new ones. Everyone who stopped by to chat, it was much appreciated. Cullen was surprised I knew so many people I call friend. She had a good time and enjoyed the show.

I was a little disappointed at the Trump $100 bill "experiment" results. Sometimes it's better to not know. I reckon times are hard on some folks so it's understandable they'd pick a bill up and pocket it. I hope they were just greedy and didn't really need it.

I had more fun this show getting to talk to y'all but I never made it upstairs where the great deals were last show.

I'll do the next one I'm sure.

We had a good show. I came home with one gun, sold a lot of coins and silver and even some baseball cards. A little interest in my model cars (people still build model cars? who knew). My wife's brownies were a big hit and a lot of candy was given out. Enjoyed the show but could have used some jalapeno's on the nachos and some onions for the hot dogs. Other than that it was great to have an open snack bar in the building.
Thanks OS and your crew for putting together a fine show.
