I think thats about the number that would keep the majority of people from getting a speed pass. An extra $200...75% of folks that buy class 3 items will just pay that.

This. Granted I would not pay 100 per month but id pay a couple hundred extra to get it earlier . The wait sucks
You know when they passed the law requiring stamps in the 1930s? , a stamp was $200, which I read in this edition of shotgun news was the equivalent of $3,400?ish today. Patrick Sweeney wrote a good article on buying a silencer. I read the article while standing in the aisle. That's like shoplifting. I'm a gangsta.

I got my first suppressor for a steal. So on that one I would have just waited it out. On the 2nd one depending on what it is id pay double . I was happy with the turn around time with e-file. So much for that

But when it does come in Ibe got multiple items coming in so that'll be cool.
Maybe instead of a fixed amount it would make more sense in a %. Like 10% of the price of the item. So a $300 stamp for a $1000 suppressor, or a $1200 stamp for a 10k machinegun. I would sure as hell pay it....
To work it into the normal work flow, Federal employees would be offered the ability to work overtime on the weekend for the expedited approvals. The 10% hike in expedited stamp price would more than cover their overtime increase of $20ish extra an hour. I would bet Fed workers would all for it, and it would be a way to have expedited stamps without adversely effecting the standard 8-9month wait times. I would be willing to bet, they would have a surge of expedited stamps if this was the case, while they worked happy as a clam with their $60ish an hour overtime pay.
I see it kinda like shipping. What if UPS or FedEx only offered ground shipping?... I know when I order something online, I never choose ground because I want to get what I bought in a timely manner. Think how many tens of thousands of sales Amazon or Ebay would lose if they only offered ground shipping... People would rather drive themselves to the store... I have to pay extra to have the shipping expedited , so why not apply it to the NFA world.

I think it's a poor idea to conceive new and improved ways to shoot yourself in the foot.
Let me get this straight: you are offering to allow BATFE to charge you more money to exercise your constitutional right?
What you think will happen: You pay extra, you get your stamp quicker.
What will actually happen: BATFE charges you more and time stays the same.
Gun owners need to quit selling themselves down the river. There is no excuse for wait times to take any more than a month. This means more NFA Branch staff, and a modern and streamlined eforms process and website. Make them change. Not us.
