And another thing;
if I or anyone else has a form 4 in the system that is our first form 4 and we decide 3 months later to give those money grabbers another $200 to buy another suppressor why can't they do a name search when they approve the first stamp and approve both at the same time. Are you not going through the same process for the second that you go through for the first? If you are approved for the first are they not going to approve you for the second.

There ya go using logic again....there is no logic applied to any government process.....

Yes, it does seem reasonable to do it the way you have laid it out, however, ATF/NFA are doing the complete background checks again. Things can and sometimes do go South for people and end up getting into legal troubles.
I wish they would provide a Suppressor License, much like our GWL, good for 2-4 years. This way, you go in to your local SOT to buy your 2nd, 3rd or 50th suppressor and if it has been within that time frame of the license, you fill out the 4473 and leave with the suppressor. Why can't the background checks be done like NICS? Put info into the dealer's system, few minutes later (hopefully) check comes back.

Or, take away the requirement for licensing totally....it's an accessory after all.

You suggest issuing a 2-4 year license, could things not go south for someone in 2-4 years as well?

Bottom line, if you have 2 applications in the system and you pass all the checks for the first one it is a gigantic waste of time and money to do the same checks again for the second one but that is the business our federal government does best, waste time and money, our time and money.

When you try to get one of them to listen to you all they can tell you is no its not done that way.

Does anyone know how to get the process changed to be more efficient?

Short of the ideal solution, is there a process to improve the way it is currently handled? There should be a way.

Yeah have the gun store charge the 200 stamp and give it to you on the spot after you pass the standard backround check. The the store sends in the money collected once a month like its done with sales tax.
