I find it a bit odd that he has to state it's a semiautomatic and that it wasn't their gun. It's also interesting to note that the 2 involved were engaged. Maybe some "role playing" and an AD. Maybe one is cheating. We'll see. I have a suspicion it wasn't a simple cleaning accident.

Officer Accidentally Shoots Colleague

Yeah. I knew a guy once who accidentally shot his wife while cleaning his gun. He spent a long time in jail.
She was at his house. They are engaged. He shot her IN THE FACE(interesting aim for a gun cleaning). Other than pulling the trigger to disassemble I do NOT believe a Glock fired without intent. And the MAJOR CRIMES detectives are investigating. I think SOMEONE isn't buying the "accident" explanation.
A lot of facts left to learn but I think something is rotten in Denmark.

yeah, right, how many times have you forgotten to unload your weapon before cleaning it. doesn't sound right.

Uh, one thing. How can he be charged with first degree murder when she isn't dead? Of course that makes me wounder what else they got wrong in the article.
OK - that's really a "typo", right? I'm sure it's "attempted murder" or something like that. . . Looking for other stories, but I don't see why that negates the rest of the article. . .
