Oil blueing/Flame blueing

I have a piece of scrap barrel I am going to try it on. With the blueing on first and then stripped for color comparison.

Can you explain the process to us?

Basically you heat the metal until u get a blue color and then dunk in motor oil. Videos on YouTube

works faily well on mild steel. used to do headers that way and small parts

never really tried it on anything worth any $$
