so 1 day I needed to know what time a quick lube place opens so I googled them. well it returned a review on the place as well, by an ex-employee. he stated the place will not fully drain your oil and therefore will not fully fill your car w/new oil. well I've been going to this place a while. today I believe I caught them in the act. there were no more seats so I stood outside right in front watching. sure enuff it seemed the guy under the car puts the plug in before my car fully drains. as I walk over to investigate further, a manager intersects me telling me I need this & that service done as someone starts filling it.

OK I let it slide, but next time I will bring a lawn chair & sit right in front of the car as it is being serviced. yeah I could do my own oil but it costs just 10-15 more to have someone else do it.

Sounds like you had the perfect opportunity to show the manager what you just witnessed...

WHen you consider that a manager makes part of his bonus based on "cost of goods" what makes you think this isn't being done on his orders?

When you see stuff like this call the news, not the company.

Yes I believe it is an inside job. I kind stood afar (to give then their "space") but saw the stream of oil stop. that's when I started to walk over. next time I will not be more than 10 feet away. what shocked me was it took less than a minute to refill it. that must be some high pressure oil coming thru or a very small amount of it.

I was going to a quick lube place and they kept telling me all kinds of things I needed. One day the manager said he would rather I not come there since all I wanted was their low priced oil change. I quit going there. They are out of business now.
Probably did the same to all customers....

You should also watch that they actually change the oil filter. The company I used to work for used quick lube places for all the vehicles and I ended up having mark all the filters to ensure they were being changed. Turns out they were just wiping them off and leaving them. Not cool.
