OK hows about who has famous folks/stories amongst you

Almost forgot.... I had Secret Service protection when I was a youngster.

Jimmy Carter's grandson and I went to Kittredge daycare / preschool together in Stone Mountain. There were two agents assigned to the school and my dad got to know one of them pretty well. His name was Milton (not a very intimidating name, right? Maybe that was his last name...hopefully). After Jimmy lost the election, Milton went on to his next assignment as security detail for then VP George Bush.

According to my late Mom we’re supposed to be direct decendents of Daniel Boone. My Great Grandmothers maiden name was Boone and Daniel Boone was her Great (I don’t remember how many times) Grandfather. She was born around 1875 I believe.

My wife's dad's great-great Grandfather's wife (Sophia Davis who married Seaborn Holt OF SC later of Gillmer county GA) was a second cousin to CFA President Jefferson Davis.

I met Mickey Mantel and took him for a boat ride on lake Oconee a few years before he passed. I worked for a boat dealership at the time and one of the boat brands we sold came out with a "Mick" edition bow rider boat that Mickey lent his name to and helped design the colors and interior . As part of the deal he made with the boat manufacturer he got the first one they produced. Mr Mantels "manager" was a lady named Greer Johnson and she had a home on Oconee. We were the closest dealer to them so we took delivery of the boat and I had the pleasure of taking it down and delivering it to Miss Johnson and Mickey. I took Mickey and Miss Johnson out for a ride and showed them how everything worked . Mickey then took the wheel and proceeded to run it up on a sand bar :censored: , I had to get out and push it off the sand bar and then I took the boat to the lake house and put it on a lift at their dock. Mickey was drinking at 11am when I got there and was drunker than a skunk when I left around 4 that afternoon:very_drunk:. He did sign a baseball for Me and gave Me a hundred bucks as a tip! I made several trips back down over the next few years maintaining the boat for them but Mickey was never there > He had sobered up and was in New York righting a book.

My best friend Jill married Rankin Smith Jr. who’s family sold the Atlanta Falcon to Arthur Blank but she kept a share in the franchise. When Rankin Sr. owned the team we would watch the games from the owners suite even back in the Fulton County Stadium days.

My step father played golf at Brookfield West when I was a kid. I would go with him and "caddy" every once in a while. I went 1 time and Boom Boom Geoffrion played with us. I drove his cart and "caddied" for him. He gave me a ten dollar bill and got our address then sent me a box with signed pictures of all the Atlanta Flames players as well as a jersey and hockey puck. He was a really cool guy.
