I bit the bullet and picked up one of these.. for some reason I love the stupid ugly thing.
It ain't ugly...You can read it, it's different. But not in a bad way....I think it's growing on me....
Told my wife that I plan to buy my own birthday present in January which would either be an Omega Seamaster or a Tag Heuer Monaco. They're pretty close in price. I know the Omega is probably the better watch and I DO love them especially with the laser etched wave dial. But that big ass square Monaco gets attention.

Tags are a POS. This is coming from an owner of two Tags. They breakdown fast. Omega 100%.
Okay but a little more info here. Are you referring to automatic or quartz movement Tags?
Quartz, but this includes the exterior as well like the bracelet. The links become lose and sloppy fast as well as the movement craps out fast.
Okay that clears it up at least a little. The Monaco like several other Tag models can be had as either a quart or automatic. And while I would not want to pay a premium for a quartz movement watch if it had a better service rep than the automatic then I would consider that especially considering it would be a little cheaper. But the latest models of the Monaco have a new in house automatic movement that gets good reviews.
All things considered I still lean heavily towards the Seamaster. When you consider that I may only be able to buy (finance) ONE $5K watch in my life then I damn sure better get what I really want. But they both have their own unique looks and appeal.
