Found this in my Grandads attic years ago after he passed. I never gave it a second thought until recently. I’ve figured out through forums that it’s a Model 1899 32-20 Hand Ejector 1st Model and had. Nickel finish at one point. The barrel is 6.5”. I’ve read that only about 5311 or so of these were ever produced and this one is 2562 putting production at 1900 from my research. Is this info correct and what would the value be in this condition I’ve seen it ALLL over the place online. From $250 to a couple grand or more for the military stamped .38 models. Any help and or info would be awesome.

I'm not a Smith & Wesson collector but I have had a couple of 100+ year-old Smith's and Colt revolvers over the years. The S&W ones don't seem to have a lot of value if they aren't in very very good condition, and all original.

I'm thinking that if yours is functional it may be worth $400 to a youg / beginning Collector who will hold onto it and hope it doubles over the next several years.
