Great pics. Can't say how many of these things we have caught and played with growing up(always to release when we were done.) Don't understand why people freak out about them.
I've never been one to let snakes around here go, but because of all the threads I've been reading on here lately about this, it's changed the way I look at them now. Unless it's poisonous, I'll get it out of harms way and let it be now. Thanks for making me change my ways with them.
While I was scraping my driveway today I seen two snakes, a copperhead and a rat snake, let's just say there is still 1 happy snake out there! I still don't like copperheads, sorry. I even swerved in the road to miss a rat snake today, I don't even do that for squirrels!! But on my way back I seen that someone else didn't try to miss it

Let it live. It is one of the good snakes to have around. They eat rats, mice, birds, etc.

That is a black racer. See the pointier snout and how the white underneath stops abruptly just past the "chin" and then the belly is uniform in color from the neck down...black racer.
