Once again, the VA comes through for me, woohoo!

So I just won my appeal and got bumped an extra 10% for tinnitus. I first applied for it Oct 2021. It was originally denied because they said my hearing loss was not bad enough to warrant it. I applied for tinnitus, not hearing loss. I had to appeal the finding then request higher review. They realized they screwed up because for mine and many Army MOS's it is presumptive. So I am saying, even though it is supposedly presumptive for most people who served, it still took from Oct 2021 till Jul 3 2024 to get approved with an appeal. They try to screw you out of benefits that have already been decided you should get.
Thats great news.
Did the 10% raise your monthly disability income any?
That govt math is really strange !! :confused2:
Hopefully they back paid you as well.

Oh yeah, went from 50% to 60% so nearly $300 per month with a nice little deposit for back pay. I guess my point was that even though it is supposedly presumptive, you still have to fight with them for it.

It has ever been so ....

Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' Tommy 'ows yer soul?
But it's "Thin red line of 'eros when the drums began to roll,
When the drums began to roll my boys, when the drums begin to roll.

While it's Tommy this an' Tommy that Tommy, fall in behind;
But it's "Please to walk to the front sir, when there's trouble in the wind
O, it's always "Walk to the front, sir, when there's trouble in the wind.

For it's Tommy this and Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of his country when the guns began to shoot
Yes, it's Tommy this and Tommy that, an' anything you please
But Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!

with the greatest respect for all my Brothers and Sisters who have served.... alabamafats

I feel your pain. I am at 70% - I hired a lawyer to squeeze that last 30% - I have several presumptive issues tied to my MOS that is under high level review. It’s like a puzzle. I am sure that is part of the strategy to get Veterans to give up.

I've been 100 for 6 years. I'd rather be able to tie my shoes or have a garden. The money don't make up for what we lost. I've been sleeping on the couch for 15 years and I don't know how to have friends. I know what my carry tastes like.

Oh, wait. No they didn't. Here's how they f'ed me this time.
Back around the first part of February, I contacted the Blairsville VA clinic and spoke with my provider, a P.A., not an M.D., and she said she wanted me to have a CT scan w/ contrast. About 5 days later, I get a call from the Cobb VA saying the earliest they could get me in was 4/17. Awesome, as usual with the VA. I went ahead and accepted the appointment. A couple days before the appointment I call to reschedule the appointment because I had something come up at work I couldn't get out of. I asked for a location a little closer to me, but would go to Cobb if necessary. They told me I needed to reschedule with Community Care and sent a message to my provider. Her witch of a nurse messaged me with an incredibly snarky email asking who ordered this in the first place and why did I need Community Care? I replied "Your boss ordered it, and I have no idea why Cobb VA said I needed Community Care. She said she looked it up, and her boss, in fact, did order it. She said she would contact Cobb VA and find out why I needed CC.

Cobb VA called me last week and said "The reason you need CC is #1, we don't do that test in this clinic, so had you driven all the way here, we would have turned you away. #2, if you have it done at the VA hospital in ATL/Decatur, they're now scheduling for November, so you need to go to CC." How F'ing crazy is that? 7 months out, plus the original 2 months I've already waited.

Still haven't heard from CC to reschedule yet either. I cannot express to y'all how much I absolutely hate and despise the VA processes. I will say my care is actually good, but getting in to get the care is absurd.

When I called the National Archives back in October for copies of all my military records, including medical, they said there were about 35,000 requests ahead of me.
Move your care to Alabama. Just avoid Birmingham. The people in Huntsville and Guntersville keep me squared away. Just a few appointments
