In 69 my dad was stationed in the Bein Thuy in South Veitnam on the Mekong Delta. His rank was E-7 AE so he work river boat, A6’s and helicopters. He was ther 1 year. They had a going away party for him at the enlisted Men club and gave him this rifle and a captured hand stitched NVA flag 24”x24”. He shared a barracks with men that were long range recon. They supplied the rifle and the flag and his men refinished the gun and made the gun case. My dad was very proud of this gun and the friends he made, he thought the world of them.
