I've only seen a few LEAD rifles, maybe 8 or 9, and ALL of them had a '65 or '66 barrel date. That is a nice find. If it was a Winchester barrel I'd cry BS, LOL.

I'm curious how this one ended up with a 1944 dated barrel. I also wonder if it's been rebuilt twice, theres a cartouche on the stock that's supposed to be a rebuild stamp from Raritan Arsenal from what I've found on line.

I think that is the arsenal rebuild stamp, Raritan. You are correct.
