Ya I thought about duracoating but I've seen so many positive reviews on Rustoleum I decided to forego the expense of equipment that I don't have (air compressor, air brush kit, etc..). I picked up a project AK a few weeks ago that wasn't running and fixed it but the paint on it was flaking off and just looked awful. I stripped it, prepped it, and put down the first 2 base coats of paint on it. I'm waiting on my sponges to get here so I can start the camo pattern. It should look really good when I'm done but who knows. Anything looks better than what it did when I got it.
And I'm totally with you on personalizing my weapons. I really don't like my things to look exactly like other people's stuff. I think guys are too scared to do anything outside the norm on their items because of a fear that it will depreciate the value. I don't intend on getting rid of certain weapons so I'm all for making them look different.
