Opinions needed - Buying a new cooler

Pelican's are better than Yeti in my opinion so if you want "high end/bomb-proof" I'd go with that. The new RTICs are Yeti knock-offs for a lot less, so those are probably worth a look. As others have stated, you want to pre-cool and if you open it 100 times a day it won't matter what you have. The Pelicans weigh a ton.

I have a Igloo sportsman 55qt that holds ice for 5 days easy. It's was $200 at Sam's club. For the same money the RTIC coolers look to be a better option but I don't have any personal experience with one yet. Whatever you get try this stuff out.
The Nu-Ice Alternative

Yeah, but it comes half-insulated. Did the ice ever melt? Last I checked your first bag of ice was going on 6 months un-melted.

I have a coleman extreme and every year i go on a week long hunting trip out of state, fill it with ice before i leave, and have to dump the ice out in the driveway when i get back home.

I'm good with the Xtreme coolers too. We camp deep in the forest, there's no place to get more ice, it keeps ice real well.
For the money it's an outstanding buy.
