P80 build

If you're saying "worth it" from a financial point of view, I'd say no. By the time you buy all the parts, you'll have paid enough to just buy a factory gun. If you like doing these kinds of projects and want to choose exactly what parts go into your build, it might be worth it.

not really worried on the cost for the whole build.. I was really interested in building one of those p80s a while ago but I been watching more and more videos on peoples p80 build and some of have ejection issues or other type of issues I was just trying hear someone else opinion on is it worth building one before I pull the strings .

Yes, totally worth it. I’ve built 5 now.

If you run the numbers for P80 builds or even stripped lower builds, at best you pay the same price as a factory made gun but at least its tailored to you. Last year before the panic/covid I put together a G19. My build prices:
Lower: $70
FFL: $20
OEM LPK: $55
Slide: $140
Slide Parts:$45
Threaded/fluted barrel: $100
Suppressor sights: $40
2x magpul mags: $20 ($10 each)

$470 total and the only perks over a factory gun is the threaded barrel/high sights.

IMO, if you are going to build it to look like a factory G19.....then no. If you will want thinks like an optic cut, threaded barrel, etc.....then absolutely. No sense in buying a factory gun and replacing most of the parts.

I built one a few years ago and took my time to source all the parts, most on sale. I have a little less than $350 in this one, minus the optic and light.

Those P80 frames look better to me than factory Block stuff. I would expect it to wind up costing more than just buying a G19/G17 but it's a cool project and kind of a middle finger to the man. So there's that...

I picked up a SN’d P80 lower for 107 out the door. I just did a direct swap with the guts out on a well worn Gen3 G32.

I’ve ran around 25 mags so far and not one issue so far. The Agency Arms magwell was a very nice addition as it finished the bottom of the frame off for looks and feel.

I wouldn’t hesitate to try my hand at trying the 80% now that I’ve got a clear understanding of what little materials need to be removed. I say go for it and have fun!

Ergo is way better than a factory Glock.
