Nice work man, I have built a coffee table and some other stuff out of pallets, I think I will try this one as well. I like the cleat Idea- I had to mount a super heavy mirror to our dining room wall, so I used a long piece of hardwood floor, ripped it into two pcs, used the tongue and grooves to secure the mirror to the wall. (Tongue pc attached to mirror and groove pc attached to wall)

I'd like to see some of your work for ideas, I want to attempt night stands, and possibly a table to go behind my couch next. Trying to manly up the house since me and the woman just split up!

The French cleat will hold unbelievable amounts of weight if secured right and without the danger of it slipping off!
