Does anyone here hunt this area? According to all information I've been able to gather, November 12-13 are the only deer days at this location. I'm trying to see if anyone is willing to take a newbie to hunting, not to firearms, into the woods to show me the ropes . Its something I've been looking into for a while, this year I think I'm finally ready to pull the trigger (pun intended). If anyone's willing let me know or information on courses would be appreciated.

That's a quota hunt You have to draw for a permit.
I thought Panola Mtn. was bow only also.
Nov 12 -13 is a gun hunt and they gave out 30 or 40 permits.be there without a permit and they gonna love you.READ the Georgia Hunting Regulations
Thanks for the info all. I figured I would just get a 3 day license and pay the extra payment at the park and I'd be GTG, considering the park is only a few minutes from my neighborhood. Is there anywhere else near this area I could legally hunt without the hassle of drawing for a permit?
Sounds like you want to start with the Hunter safety course and some time perusing the regulations booklet. For places to hunt, just head east on 212. Safety first!
