Peaches to Beaches

On my way to work this morning I saw a set of plastic shelves sitting by the road waiting for the trash truck. So of course I looped back around and threw them in the back of the raggedy old Hardbody. Got to work and took them in to use our screen wash sink and electric pressure washer. It looked like these had potted plants and maybe paint on them. So my boss asked what I was doing. I told him and I quote
"Sheeeit, you think a little dirt and paint gonna make me pass on $40.00 worth of shelves? You got any idea how much **** my ol lady has to store?"
I've disassembled a bunch of shelves that we're left in this house and stacked them up in a small section for safe keeping. And we are using a bunch of shelves for storage in the basement. Even have available some space. I imagine we'll use some when we start setting up my Wife's sewing room

My Mom and stepfather dragged me to every flea market and antique shop between southern Michigan and Miami when I was growing up. They had a huge collection of furniture clocks dolls china etc. Since he died in 2020 my Mom has tried to sell a good bit of that stuff and nobody is buying. In fact it reminds me of baseball cards and Elvis collectibles. By that I mean that most of the people who recognized the value in that stuff are dead. So now what's left is just very expensive clutter.
WOW, I'm surprised. Is she using the internet? I see stuff like we have pretty regular. That's how I found out it was worth somethin. That and antique places. Not the top end, but nice

Mom keeps trying to sell easy to ship stuff like Barbies on eBay. As far as selling the antiques that are left...well I'll probably have to be the one dealing with that eventually.

Sell or keep it. Granted I don't NEED a dozen wall clocks or half a dozen sets of china but I would never throw any of it away. Valuable or not that stuff has too much historical value to just toss.
Good on you, same here. We packed that stuff up carefully to be saved for a later time. I added 1400 sq ft in the attic for just such stuff. And it's all sectioned off like a warehouse

Today’s haul. Not too bad this year.

Wow, my whole house here in boonies is only 900 sq feet :eek2:
Sounds like when we lived in the old Forestry Office I Ft Valley. Two rooms and an added on kitchen. About the same square feet of living space. However... the garage was big enough to park a bucket truck inside. And most of the fire tower was still out back.
