Anyone have a boiled and / or roasted peanuts recipe? Mine will be dried next weekend.. found a bunch online but always a question…

Why are you drying them? We have always taken them straight from the field, pull from vine, drop in a pot of salty water and let them boil, and sample them until they are soft and salty enough.

I add water salt to taste and piece of fat meat or ham hock to mine and cook about 3 hours or till soft on stove. Have beef getting already shelled fresh peanuts and cooking them same way and they are just as good and no shells to deal with!

Be sure to put in the ham hock makes them way better

we always boiled them green. Use a 10 gallon washpot and added salt till it tasted 'right' . Put them in gallon ziplocs and freeze. Makes for an easy snack during the winter.

Never thought of boiling them shelled. I thought we were cheating taking them from the trailer instead of the vine.
