Pick One.

Couldn't pin down just one. In my observation many cities/towns are disappointing primarily because the supposed seedy underbelly is larger and more prominant than expected or marketed.

The only places I've visited that did not disappoint in reality were places with a conspicious lack of people.

Bayonne, NJ...truly the stained and sweaty taint of NJ and probably America

Bayonne is pretty terrible, as is West Trenton. The awful part of Las Vegas is how it wallows in an undeserved sense of importance and meaning. It's pure emptiness and artificial fakery, all rolled up into an obnoxious display of idiocy.

That's true of so much of America these days....but Bayonne is literally a garbage pit that is festering and decaying at an alarming rate. Have you been there in the heat of summer? It's hideous!

When the wind would blow from the south, it was fantastic. Pure, clean, piney air. When the wind blew from the northeast it would almost make you puke. I've never been so happy to shell out $2.50 as I was to cross the Delaware river headed west to gtfo of there.
