Heck, I ran away at the same age and never went back. If that “man” wants to go back so be it.

I get it he is almost 18, but he is far from grown, he has some issues that require meds, I know he has been struggling with the rules and trying to find his place in the world, he could at least call his parents and tell them he is ok. Regardless if he can’t live by their rules anymore.
I was seventeen when I went out on my own, but I stayed in contact and told my folks I was leaving, this is not the same, and out of character for lane.

Did he have a job? Were a girlfriend?
