The rule of thumb is that your waist size must be about four inches more than you're inseam. This is because generally your legs are not going to fill the pants thus, allowing the pocket to not bulge when it's stuffed full of things.

Of course, you can put anything in your pocket if you don't mind looking like you stole the gideon's bible from motel 6, but you're not really kidding anyone at that point, are you?

Nylon /poly athletic shorts seemed to hold it O.K. when I was
standing or walking, but when sitting the butt sticks out of the pocket.
It isn't obvious to others that it's a gun, but it doesn't feel secure.

Those “ YNs” will know you have a gun in your pocket and wait for you to be standing inline of the doughnut shop and yank that thang right outtta there.
