What's the general consensus on these. I seem to remember something about soft bolts but honestly it has been a few years since I have looked into them.

Most people say to replace the bolts and op rods with GI parts. Other than that, they are great rifles. May not be a M1A, but it will still get the job done.

Heard lots of stories about bolts but found very few documented failures , the failures you do find are headpsace opens up. If you have concerns buy a 7.62x51(not .308) headspace gauges and check it often. Supposedly the receivers are forged and strong

Agreed, I've heard the bolt stories too. The one I have has not opened up on headspace at all. The rear sight messed up so it was replaced with a USGI unit and has been good to go since.

great receiver to build on.....get a NM barrel, front/rear sights, USGI or quality repro oprod, USGI bolts as a must, and a trigger job if it needs it.

for reasons I cant remember theres a difference between the heel stamp and side stamp polys as well
