Truth.
BTW, if not for us, yall would be speaking German.

Not quite true. The Brits had destroyed the Luftwaffe by May 1941 as well as the German invasion fleet and Hitler had given up any thought of invasion, the USA did not join the fray until until after Pearl Harbour and did not start operations in Europe until 1942. However, I would agree that if the Americans had not defeated the Japanese at the Battle of the Coral Sea we Australians would probably be speaking Japanese, although we had defeated the Japanese on land in New Guinea.

look up Lend Lease program..a whole lot of U.S hardware was fighting before we got there

Russia was not a serious threat during WWII. Obviously they had lots of troops at their disposal who were by and large, motivated to protect Russian territory from the German invaders. US did however help our Soviet allies with $11 billion (in 1947 dollars) in lend lease materials. This included over 400,000 jeeps and trucks, 12,000 armored vehicles of which about 7000 were tanks of different types and 11,400 aircraft. Foodstuffs included 1.75 million tons of food. There were some types of aid requested but rejected, specifically heavy bombers. US doctrine at the time saw delivery of heavy bombers as a potential risk to the US so those requests were all rejected. US produced on the order of 30,000 heavy bombers. By comparison USSR started the war with only 27 heavy bombers and only produced about 100 more during the war period. In some cases aid went beyond simple shipment of goods. A full tire manufacturing plant was taken from Ford Motor Company and shipped to USSR.

Beyond US aid to USSR Britain also sent them ~7000 aircraft of varying types, 27 naval ships, 5218 tanks, 5000 anti-tank guns, 4000+ ambulances, 323 machinery trucks (what we'd call a field service truck), 15,000,000 pairs of boots.

All in all Russia received significant help from her allies during the war. They obviously paid an extremely high price in human lives lost. Without the aid they'd have had an extremely difficult time even keeping the Germans off their doorstep, much less represented a global offensive threat.

Wait what? I thought they were instrumental to crushing the Germans on the Western Front, and Marched into Berlin... ? I remember Sgt. Schultz in Hogan’s Heroes was always afraid of being sent to the Western Front?

right on,
Thus it was that the events of July 10 through Oct. 31—known to history as the Battle of Britain—came as a surprise to the prophets of doom. Britain won. The RAF proved to be a better combat force than the Luftwaffe in almost every respect. The decisive factors were British capability and determination, but German mistakes, before and during the battle, contributed significantly to the outcome.

Our general staff all saw Russia as a threat. Patton was basically demoted for saying as much. The Russians had a massive offensive land and Air Force that could have sliced through the allies from Berlin to the English Channel in weeks. Remember that the Allies were not set up for defensive purposes. The German almost proved that in the Battle of the bulge- but the Russians would have superior supply lines and overwhelming air support. The Germans almost succeeded without either and a small force in comparison to the amassed Russian juggernaut. They had their army taking the German Allies apart one by one to claim their spoils. They could have taken Berlin weeks, maybe months earlier, had they wanted to. The Russian doctrine and Stalin were as bad as the Nazi’s in terms of murder, treachery and control. Don’t forget the Russians had a pact with the Nazi’s before Hitler invaded. Why do you think we slipped right into the Cold War? I think the A-Bomb had quite a bit to do with the decision to halt at Berlin. Stalin has no love for the West. He always felt the Allies waited to long to become all in and would turn on us in a heartbeat if it meant spreading his regime. As far as us providing supplies, Stalin would have happily used them against us.
