The son is going to be adopted by his paternal Uncle who is married with three young children. My wife said the aunt is great with kids and a very sweet woman.

Didn't see this until just now. I can't imagine being in that little boy's situation. Prayer said for him and his whole family. It's at least good that he is able to be with blood relatives and not in foster care.

We are going to Alabama for the memorial service and funeral this week. I'm not sure how my wife is going to handle it.

I can't find any updates on the investigation so I guess it is still ongoing. I hope the 16 year old driving the other car wasn't driving drunk/distracted.

Funeral was today. Lot of family and friends there to pay their respects. Son was looking a lot better but still healing.
