RBGC 2019 Run-and-Gun (5k/10k)

With about 4 lbs of Taco Bell for the first 3 miles...


I made a NY resolution to run 500 miles, lose 30 lbs, and run a sub 50 min 10k in 2019. 2/3 of the way home. I have a RnG or 10k race every other Saturday until thanksgiving penciled in, I may just luck into the last goal.

Going to CMP Friday to get dope on TA33. My rifle lost some weight too.

Congrats on getting after your goals. When this RNG is over, I am going to go back to stretching out my mileage and mixing in more running with my other workouts. 12 years ago I could do a 44 min 10k, and it kills me to see I am nowhere near that now. It will be nice to drop the vest for a while.
I am assuming you are traveling out of state for all the RNG's? I wish they were more prevalent in Ga.

My plan is to run it as slick as I can this year 7.5# rifle, belt with pistol, 2 rifle and two pistol magazines, and a three liter CamelBak with two more pistol magazines. I know I won't be able to run the whole 10k and still be able to hit anything but I am looking to improve compared to last year.

I should have 92 pistol (4x23) and 140 (2x40 & 2x30) for rifle. Unfortunately, I can't remember how much pistol ammo I went through last year but I don't remember having to reload on the clock.

Can you start with a mag in the gun? Not chambered? I was planning 4 ea in pouches and 1 ea in the gun.

No, gun has to be unloaded and cleared before stepping off, checked at beginning of the stage and end of the stage.

I’m running similar 5 pistol (105) and 4 AR. I don’t think I’ve had to reload on one of these either.
