I know QC is kinda lax for practice ammo. But this is just a little out of hand.

This guy comes to me wanting a hammer on the range. So I give him the hammer and he tells me he just loaded a bunch of 9mm and forgot powder in one so it stuck in the barrel and the action is locked up. I send him off with a squib rod and hammer and they commence to remodeling the bay next to me. I'm leaving and go over to get my rod and hammer and there's like a dozen of these laying on the bench. I offered to answer any reloading questions and he proceeded to tell me he had it and it really wasn't that hard. Wished him luck and went home.

If someone tellls me they had a squib and the action is locked up and they are not shooting a revolver. I would not loan any tools. They probably have a loaded round jammed in behind the squib round. If they detonate the loaded round you will not be getting your tools back.

really surprised the range let that go on the long.

Had to be a lot of people getting covered with a loaded gun.

As far as I'm concerned, even with a "squib" load, it's a loaded gun until the action is open.
