While I am a big FAN of the Third-Gen Smith's--Okay, ALL Smith's--The .45's are BIG Guns, with a Lonnggg Trigger Reach in DA Mode--Might not work so well for the OP's small hands--Just sayin' ....mikey357

i agree. honestly if he can't reach a slide release on a hk, i'm not sure what he can use unless a compact.

X2. Feels like a P226 in the hand. Mine was an SAS Gen2 and actually was so close to a P229 it would be hard to feel any difference. Very smooth DA trigger, SRT and light crisp SA trigger. Full melt contoured frame and slide and the new G2 grips. Extended mags are 14 rounds but really long.

I can't remember if it has a safety or a decocker.

They come both ways... 97B is a manual safety and the BD is the de-cocker. They are awesome shooters bone stock, but with a little work they become unbelievably accurate.

Thanks for the help. I had just looked it up and edited my post. I still haven't tried a 97. I need to handle one next time I'm at Georgia Gun Store.
