Recommendations on SA/DA .45ACP

Some would argue that your strong hand thumb should not be used to release the slide stop. I trained overhand for years, still default to it some. Now I train to use support hand thumb to release slide.

They come both ways... 97B is a manual safety and the BD is the de-cocker. They are awesome shooters bone stock, but with a little work they become unbelievably accurate.

Yep! thats my suggestion!
all metal weapon, great performer, the decocker model will likely eliminate the can't reach the safety as theres no real need as it rides in half cock when decocked.
need to try it on for hand fit but its a pretty slim stacked 45acp to me.
can't argue with the performance of the weapon. I think with nite sites they run in the area of 700?
I have been eyeing one myself, don't really know why as I simply adore my P-01 and SP-01, but then the 97 does shoot a bigger bullet, Like I really need another 45acp.

Reaching the slide release on a 227 with the E2 grips shouldn't be a problem, the decocker may be though. While the 14 round extended mags are great for range time, it may be hard to conceal with that + 4 extension. The decocker on a 220 is about the same distance as the 227, it's within millimeters but you can get thin grips for 220's which may help you.

As a lefty this is how I learned. I always use my index for mag release and support hand for slide release.

I have never shot a FNX or the P227, but I am on my 3rd P220. Lots of flavors (depending on what you want to spend) but I kind of think the P220 sets the standard for a DA/SA 45acp. I encourage you to rent and shoot one before buying and I would bet once you do you will compare other 45s to it.
