Recurve or long bow

What are you looking for, one piece, take-down, recurve, or longbow? What is your draw length and what weight are you looking to pull? Budget?
Do you think you'll be wanting stabilizer bars, counter-balance weights,
sights, a fancy modern arrow rest, sights, etc,
If the answer to all those are "No" and you just want to shoot targets in your backyard out to about 25 yards, you can do that with a plain fiberglass recurve bow that you can pick up from a big box sporting good store for about $50 if you look for the sale --maybe $35 if they're on clearance sale. Draw weight about 30-40 lbs.
I got one like that from Bass Pro Shops a couple years ago and gave it to my nephew.
If you use a fairly lightweight carbon fiber shaft arrow with a light weight target point, it has a pretty decent trajectory within 25 yards.
