Sounds like you are shooting something other than a 1911.

If you are shooting USPSA, you may benefit from the use of a timer and some timed drills. Often, you will shoot faster and better with a hotter load. I generally shoot a 1911 in Single Stack division.

Yep - XDM. I have tried some of the really light loads and they won't cycle it with the factory recoil spring. Still able to run some lighter loads, but nothing like my buddies run with their 1911's and reduced power springs. I may change it out at some point.

Interesting info on the hotter loads. I'll have to mix it up some and see how that turns out!
