Red dots on pistols

It does take some getting used to... once you overcome the training aspect.... they will enhance abilities.

A lot of folks think that if you throw on a RDO, it give you an ability and that’s far from realistic....

Great job working through the training aspect and becoming accustomed to it.

What I’ve noticed now after a few hundred rounds with the dot that my target acquisition is quicker and groupings are tighter so it has definitely helped me.

So if im understanding correctly you use your irons to find the red dot then, if so that defeats the purpose of having a red dot, similar to you wouldn't line up your irons on your rifle first before finding the red dot on your rifle same principles train your presentation so your red dot finds your eye not the other way around you want it to work for you right off the bat on your presentation not try to find ways around it so youll see it

like what joel2000 said. The initial training and reps to find the dot are easier when using irons as reference, but having to do that shows you that your muscle memory is wrong all together.

If you can bring the pistol up and automatically be on with irons, then you will not need to train that way to find a dot.

It will be a seamless transition to an RDS if you can truly raise your pistol to a shooting position and the sights are aligned without having to adjust alignment.

Shooting under NV helped show me that I needed more reps to have the correct presentation every time. When shooting in complete darkness you cannot see the irons, and if you have night sights they bloom making them useless for NV shooting. The dot is the way in that situation. I’ll post up some pics of what I’m saying in a few minutes.

Bruh... I love XS BDS... all of mine on my G’s are suppressor height... the one I have on my 320 is WC and is suppressor height with a small break... fun shooter....

XS in my opinion are the easiest to train on and acquire ... easypeezy......

Where you located? If close by to 31807 I’d let you shoot mine to see why you think... ( you supply your own ammo of course)

I sure do appreciate the kind offer but Carroll Co 30117 is a pretty fer piece from Harris. I know a couple of guys fairly close by that would let me try theirs to see if I like them or not, although I understand there is a learning curve.

I used the irons to find the dot my first day. My dot pistols have nothing but RDS. No BUIS
